Shopify to Zoho integration that holds up in production

I connect Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce to Zoho Inventory, Books, CRM and Desk with n8n, so orders, stock, customers and invoices move on their own, and failures reach a person instead of disappearing.

What gets connected

The exact mapping depends on your store and your Zoho org. This is the usual starting point:

DataFrom the storeInto Zoho
OrdersNew orders, by webhookSales orders in Zoho Inventory
StockInventory changesItem stock kept in step, in whichever direction your source of truth runs
CustomersRetail and wholesale accountsContacts and accounts in Zoho CRM
InvoicesPaid or fulfilled ordersInvoices in Zoho Books
Abandoned cartsCart eventsDeals and follow-up in Zoho CRM
ProblemsFailed syncs and exceptionsTickets in Zoho Desk, with an owner

When a ready-made connector is enough

If you run one store with a simple catalogue and just want orders in Zoho Inventory, a ready-made connector may be all you need, and it will cost less. I'll say so in the audit.

A custom integration pays off when:

  • you sell wholesale or B2B, with pricing, approval or account rules a connector doesn't know about;
  • more than one storefront feeds the same Zoho org;
  • SKUs, variants or bundles don't map one to one;
  • one event needs to update several Zoho apps at once;
  • you need to know for certain when something didn't sync.

How every integration is built

  • Retry with backoff. Temporary failures retry instead of dropping the record.
  • Idempotent writes. A webhook that fires twice doesn't create two sales orders.
  • Error alerting. Failures reach a person or a ticket, never a log nobody reads.
  • OAuth handling. Tokens refresh cleanly, so flows don't stop quietly at renewal.
  • Run logging. Every execution is traceable when finance asks where an invoice went.
  • Clean handover. Exports, documentation and a walkthrough, so you're never locked to me.

How an engagement runs

  1. Free automation audit. A walkthrough of your stack, a map of every place data is re-typed by hand, and a written plan with an estimate. You keep it whether or not you hire me.
  2. Fixed scope and quote. We agree exactly what gets built before anything is built.
  3. Build and test. The flows are built, then tested against the failure cases as well as the normal ones.
  4. Handover. Workflow exports, credential setup, documentation and a recorded walkthrough.

Questions people ask first

Do I need n8n Cloud or self-hosted n8n?

Either works. I'll recommend one based on your volume, your data requirements and who will look after it. You own the workflows either way.

Can you work with my existing Zoho setup?

Yes. Most Zoho orgs already have custom fields, modules and Deluge scripts. I map what's there before changing anything, and build around it.

I'm on BigCommerce or WooCommerce, not Shopify.

The same patterns apply. I've built integrations on all three, including one flow that serves BigCommerce and WooCommerce at the same time.

What does it cost?

It's quoted after the free audit, once the scope is actually known. You get a written plan and an estimate before you commit to anything.

What happens after handover?

You get the workflow exports, credential setup, written documentation and a recorded walkthrough, so another engineer can take it over without me. If you'd like me to stay on for changes, we agree that separately.

Tell me what's still being done by hand.

If your team is copying orders between a storefront and Zoho, or chasing invoices across three tools, describe it in a few lines.
